Probably because the race 5 times at Eldora, and half the races are not in the same state as Oakshade. They have had a lot of Oakshade regulars follow the series. i think ALMS try not to schedule against Oakshade because anyone running points will run Oakshade instead of ALMS. Oakshade points pay more for points title than ALMS.

Not this year they don't. Heard the 2015 ALMS title will pay $10,000.

the 2k to win is terrible. they were pay that in the mid 80's. it has a nice schedule (25 races), but should pay 4-5k to win. they would probably get a few more cars to follow the tour.

that June 20 date at Oakshade coincides with the Hell Tour date at FALS. Not a big deal other than guys will have to choose which series to stick with as this race is pretty early on the Summer Nats schedule. That 1 only June 20 show puts a pickle into someones plans to run both series for points. It is what it is.

And I wouldn't call it the ALMS/Oakshade series, how bout the ALMS/Eldora series? 5 dates???

i don't run the show. if i did, i would try to find some sponsors or the track can charge the admission for a 4-5k show instead of the admission for a 2k show.

They keep the purse where it is for a reason. They don't want to attract the money chasers and cherry pickers. They take care of their drivers and depend on local car counts. If the big guys came in with the series, local guys would stay home mostly.
ALMS was started by Eldora and Oakshade...only fitting that they have the majority of the races.

people can say what they want about only paying 2k to win for the majority of the schedule. I agree 2k is low, but raburke added a logical reason as to why. What I like about it, is that there will be a lot of decent shows close to home that I can attend

Some local tracks pay at least half of 2K weekly if not more. And whats up with the Eldora and 34 raceway same date????

No matter how you look at it the money in racing is falling behind the costs faster and faster.

My guess is 34 is a decoy to attract the big dogs while the ALMS regulars sneak off to Eldora for 2 grand and the points.

If the series promoter is keeping the purse down for the regional guys, that's great but they could double that purse and it would still attract the same racers. Seriously, 2 grand at Eldora for a series race?
