Default It wouldn't be racing season without a tire controversy

    http://insidedirtracing.com/turn-2-b...e-controversy/

Richard and Michael discuss tires, Josh Richards and drivers travelling longer distances to race so far in 2015.

I'd like to see Open Brand with limited compounds. My assumption is we will never see it will the Tire Deal Money out there that the tracks get.

No effing way. That would make billionaires out of the people that make tire juice within the first week.

I agree, first the manufacturers need to make a tire that stays consistent after more than 2 heat cycles..then make a tire rule.

So what is the Lucas officials doing to mark the tires to make sure you are running the same tires that they marked?

They paint some odd pattern on each tire each day. Dirt on Dirt has photos. 5th photo from the left.

I think 20s, 30s, and 40s are the way to go. Its possible for this to work too, since pretty much everybody in the mid west is already running this rule. Marking tires to run all night is a good thing for keeping the cost down, but most local tracks have a hard enough time lining people up. It would be hard to keep on top of everything.

If everybody was on a Hoosier tire, you're making Hoosier richer anyways.

Been there done that with tires. Worked on asphalt team where they marked tires with paint and patterns. Was not long before we had all their paint colors in the trailer and we could copy the patterns with a piece of cardboard
