Ponderosa Speedway Sets the Stage for a Spectacular 2015 Racing Season!

Junction City, KY-February 19, 2015- Ponderosa Speedway track promoter Jerry Denson and staff are ready for the 2015 season to get underway and the 2015 season is shaping up to be a spectacular one at the 3/8 mile D-shaped oval known as “Kentucky’s Baddest Bullring” and it will definitely be the richest in the history of the storied facility, set to begin its 43rd season of operation. The majority of stock car events will take place on the track’s usual Friday night time slot on the calendar, with the exception of a couple of events.

Activities will begin at Ponderosa Speedway with the track’s annual Test and Tune Open Practice day on Saturday afternoon March 21, followed by the 2014 Celebration of Champions awards ceremony at the conclusion of practice that afternoon, with practice set to begin at 1:00 p.m. and conclude at 5:00 p.m. The Celebration of Champions awards ceremony will be held after practice has concluded, with the top ten drivers in points in 2014 from each division being honored. The track will begin its 43rd season of dirt track racing on Friday March 27 with a full program of racing for Pro Late Models, Modifieds, KDRA Super Stocks (formerly Sportsman), and Mini-Cup/Cyclones, while Super Late Models will be allowed to practice. The season will conclude with the track’s season championship event on Friday October 30.

The Super Late Model division will see several special events throughout the 2015 season, with four different sanctioning groups visiting the track in 2015. The Super Late Models debut on the racing program for 2015 on Friday April 3 as the Ray Cook promoted Old Man’s Garage Spring Nationals presented by Schaeffer Oil will sanction the 3rd Annual Spring Showdown, with Super Late Models racing for $4,000 to win. On Friday May 8, the World of Outlaws Late Model Series will make their first-ever appearance at Ponderosa Speedway for an event that will see Super Late Models racing for $10,000 to win.
