SOUTHERN ALL STAR DIRT RACING SERIES TECHNICAL BULLETIN #1
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Southern All Star Dirt Racing Series Joins Lucas Oil & World Of Outlaws Concerning Shock Rule
FAYETTEVILLE, TN- The Southern All Star Dirt Racing Series is taking “preventative” measures, just like the Lucas Oil Series & World of Outlaws Late Model Series and has issued a technical bulletin to limit exotic and developing technologies in racing shocks.
The Southern All Star Dirt Racing Series decision to outlaw four styles of shocks was made after numerous phone calls from concerned drivers that run part time with the series as well as series regular drivers, citing cost as the main contributing factor for the rule change. This rule will go into effect this weekend at the series opening weekend events East Alabama Motor Speedway & Cherokee Speedway.
Once the accurate terminology is finalized to explain the new limitations, a technical bulletin will be issued and the series rulebook updated.
The banned styles: (1) through-rods; (2) crossover, in which two shocks work in tandem; (3) shocks adjusted electronically via cell phone apps; and (4) Penske’s Cambridge University-developed inerter shock.
