Unfortunately, with the weather we've already had and more predicted including 1 inch of rain Wednesday followed by an inch of snow/ice Wednesday night and continued below freezing temps at night into the weekend, there is no way to even dry the pits out enough to support all the rigs. Some services even call for more precipitation Saturday night with a low near 32 degrees. Race teams and fans have been watching this weather too and have already begun making alternate plans for this weekend. There is no reason to wait on this any further.

So instead of finding out "Who gets the bird?" with a 100-lap Late Model race, it appears mother nature has "given us the bird" instead this year. We will try again in 2016. Meanwhile...

A practice has been added to our schedule on Friday night, March 13th from 5 to 9pm.

The season opener will be SUNDAY, March 15th. (Check back later for times.) The Southern DIRT Modifieds will be here to begin their 2015 season.

***Then on March 28th, it's the return of the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series to Ark-La-Tex Speedway!*** The defending champion of that event is none other than Scott Bloomquist! Cya on the 13th, 15th & 28th!!!

Mother Nature is definitely in charge right now. IMO it may be tough for tracks to be able to open this weekend with the ground so saturated.
