has any one dynoed a oberg against a wix racing to see what one would make more HP. oberg claims better flow and less pressure drop so would that make the pump work easier freeing up some power.

Better flow and less pressure drop = less filtration.

Increasing the surface area negates that penalty.

Jmo but I would never sacrifice filtration for the very unnoticeable gain in power. Cleaner oil drastically improves longevity.

If you think about it we are running 5 sometimes 6 oil pumps. you can gain much more by just dropping a stage off the scavenge .

So in wet sump terms your already ahead of the game. A better power adder that can increase reliability might be a vacuum pump which can aid in oil flow issues as well.

looking at there 8inch but does any one have any HP numbers. was going to mount it close to block to keep hoses short. but if there's not but 1 or 2 HP gains than it not worth it but if there was like 5 to 10 then i would try it. going on a crate so every little bit helps.

A flat screen like an o-berg is not meant to be the primary oil filter. It does not have enough surface area.Look somewhere else for hp like a 2 blade fan.

well i got oberg on the phone yesterday after two day of trying. they have not done any test for HP and could not back up there claim for better flow looks like we staying with the wix.

    Default Oil Filter Performance

"Better flow and less pressure drop = less filtration."

Not necessarily. It depends on the cause of the pressure drop. In lab testing, we were able to reduce pre-filter pressure drop by a significant margin while improving efficiency. Current filter design multipass numbers are 15 micron at over 30 GPM.

"Increasing the surface area negates that penalty."

Good thought. Media loft plays a very important role. How the pleat is designed has a dramatic influence on capacity and pressure drop.

    You make oil filters also?

    Affirmative STR.

    32 GPM - 15 Micron

    Thanks

How much do you get for them R2C and are they for 13/16-16? I went on the website and didnt see oil filters

Micro Synthetic media and metal caps. Additional particulate capacity for extended operation.

Ultra low restriction housings and end-plates. Reduced pre-filter pressure drop.

Heavy can design for maximum durability.

13/16" with and without anti-drain capability.

We'll talk about them much more in the coming weeks. We've been testing since last summer.

    They work extremely well.

    Thanks
