    Default Pinto Tie Rod

Anyone know of an inner tie rod that will work on a stock pinto manual rack? Ford nor do any aftermarket manufacturer does not make them anymore and need one?

I think the EV117 inner tie rod is for the power rack and won't work on the manual rack. I searched a few part stores too and was surprised that I couldn't find any. If you can't find any you might have to look at a complete rack. I see one on eBay for 74.95 with free shipping.

I am pretty sure that they are the same. We have swapped these things around from rack to rack for a lot of years. The ones for the strut cars will work also. Some are a little longer, but it will work. There is a lot of adjustment for the outer tie rod. Some racks have a set screw that helps hold the inner threaded piece on and then some have a roll pin through them. You can make either one of them work.

FYI; 71 - 72 racks are different. 74 and later are basically all the same depending on the manufacturer.
