Elkins Raceway prepares for “Thunder in the Mountains” for the racing season with continued partnership under FASTRAK on Friday Nights in 2015!!

(Kerens, West Virginia) – The Elkins Raceway located in Kerens, West Virginia has had a lot of historic moments making “Thunder in the Mountains” since 1952 at the 3/8th mile clay oval in Randolph County in West Virginia. FASTRAK Companies International is delighted to announce the continued partnership with the Elkins Raceway in 2015 for the 3rd consecutive year. The plan for the Elkins Raceway is to run every Friday night for the racing season from May – September. FASTRAK will sanction the crate late models program at the 3/8th mile for a FASTRAK weekly points track championship. Also clicking off the 10 races needed to compete in the 12th Annual FASTRAK World Championship at season’s end that is an invitation event of “FASTRAK’S Best of the Best” on September 18th-19th in Jamaica, Virginia.

Elkins Raceway Sponsorship Marketing's - Jeff Ball stated the following about the track being sanctioned with FASTRAK Companies International again, “I like a sanctioning body that comes in and wants to keep the racing honest. FASTRAK is the working man series but it’s the “premier” best in crate late model racing – they set the standard and exceed over the bars of excellence. Bottom line a majority of my local drivers stated they wanted Elkins Raceway – FASTRAK and wouldn't be happy if it wasn't that was back in 2013. You got to keep your drivers and competition happy. This is in a conclusion of “checks and balances” system for these guys out here that run FASTRAK anywhere especially Elkins Raceway. A lot of these drivers want to run just a weekly point’s championship format and then lay it all on the line representing Elkins Raceway at the FASTRAK World Championship at season’s end.”

Jim Skidmore the Track Promoter stated "the results have been very successful being with FASTRAK, we really are backing a lot of crate teams in support to help Elkins Raceway have a competitive crate class in 2015 under FASTRAK. They have also inked a deal with FASTRAK’s Joel Prosser to have a FASTRAK (MOV) Mid Ohio Valley Touring Series event(s) during the 2015 season. Elkin Raceway’s plans are to run some special $1,500 -$2,000 to win crate shows and are also planning some special 2 days events also for the 2015 racing season in trying to work with other racing facilities.

The official 2015 Elkins Raceway season gets started with an Open Practice on April 24th and the First Official Race event of the season will be on Friday night May 1st.
