Tri City's right rear tire rule
Tri City Speedway in Pontoon Beach, Il has enacted a rule for 2015 that will limit all dirt late models to (1) right rear tire for the entire evening. LM-20 or a LM-40. Take your pick.
This includes hot laps, time trials, heats, consi's and feature. If a competitor has a flat, he can replace it with the same tire compound and start at the tail for the next scheduled race.
Are their any other tracks that incorporate this rule?
Highly doubtful this rule will be in place when the Lucas boys come to town.

Finally a promoter,or owner that has some sense, and doesen't have his,or her hand out to accept the monies that the tire manufactures are willing to dish out.
Great Choice!

The family that owns that track doesnt need a tire company handout. Trust me. Having said that....I think its a good idea, and no I dont think it will apply to the big boy shows. Just weekly.
-
It's not gonna apply to Lucas or any other special show that rolls into town. It's just a track rule for the WEEKLY show.
-
The old ARTGO asphalt series had a rule like that.
Support WEEKLY racing......while you still can!

Updated tire rule from the track.....
Updated 2015 Late Model Tire Rule
After careful consideration as well as to clear up any confusion on the previously released Late Model tire rule the updated 2015 tire rule will be as follows:
Tri-City Speedway 2015 Late Model Tire Rule will be as follows:
RR - Hoosier L/M 40 ONLY!
Must Durometer 60 at all times!
LR, LF & RF - Hoosier L/M 20 or L/M 40
Thanks, Kevin

That's even better,than the original!
-
Peoria Speedway - hope you are considering this? Great rule for regular weekly shows I think...

This track is one of the best tracks in Illinois. They continue to prove it year after year.
-
Knoxville makes their 410 sprints run the same tire all night. They mark it at the beginning of the evening (Tri-City is doing the same thing). Hopefully, more tracks will start doing this.
