Ponderosa Speedway Kicks Off 2015 Racing Campaign This Friday March 27

Junction City, KY-March 22, 2015- Ponderosa Speedway track promoter and staff are set to begin the 2015 racing season this Friday evening March 27 at the 3/8 mile D-shaped red clay oval better known as “Kentucky’s Baddest Bullring” as the 43rd Annual Season Opener event will feature a full racing program for Pro Late Models, Modifieds, KDRA Super Stocks, and Mini-Cup/Cyclones, with Super Late Models being allowed to practice.

Ponderosa Speedway will present its first racing program of the 2015 racing season on Friday March 27. On the racing card will be Pro Late Models racing in a 20 lap main event paying $600 to win, along with Modifieds, also racing in a 20 lap main event paying $700 to win. The KDRA Super Stocks (formerly Sportsman) will contest a 15 lap main event paying $400 to win, while the Mini-Cup/Cyclone division will make their debut with a 10 lap main event paying $100 to win. The Super Late Model division will be allowed to practice, making their 2015 debut on Friday April 3 in the Old Man’s Garage Spring Nationals presented by Schaeffer Oil sanctioned 3rd Annual Spring Showdown. RACEceivers are mandatory in all divisions and transponder scoring will be in use ($10 rental fee or $5 fee if a driver has their own). Drivers will pick up their transponders at the driver registration window and drivers need to be signed in by the time of the drivers meeting at 7:00 p.m.

Activities for the March 27 Season Opener event at Ponderosa Speedway will see the pit area and general admission area open at 4:00 p.m. The drivers meeting will begin at 7:00 p.m., with practice laps set to start at 7:20 p.m. Time trials will begin at 7:45 p.m., with racing set to take the green flag at 8:30 p.m. All times are Eastern Daylight Times. Tickets prices for the March 27 event in the general admission area will be $15, with children ages 12 and under FREE. A pit pass will be $30.
