There is not really any words to say about how great Mr. Baltes was. The man was just unbelievable for the things he did for dirt car racing. God bless you Earl, for your will and strength of running the best dirt racing track in the world.

R.I.P. Earl, and God speed on your new journey.

25 + years ago I stuck around for one of the of the World 100 driver meetings before I went back to the stands. After the meeting was done Earl had a few words he some what put it like this. We have weather coming (and it was) we don't have time to F*** around you guys have 15 minutes to get to the line if you're not there we have more than enough guys here that would be glad to take your spot so lets go. And of course the drivers made it to the line and within 10 or so minutes after the checkered it started to rain.

Good post whiteplate!! Earl didn't take noshT from nobody! It was his way or the highway, and he gave you your choice. He was tough, but fair. Drivers learned to respect that, and love him for that. He was and always will be the Godfather of Eldora, and DLM racing for that matter!!!
