    Cold temperatures postpone Charles Trammell Memorial at Tazewell Speedway to April 4

    TAZEWELL, TN (March 26, 2015)—Due to unusual cold temperatures expected for this Saturday March 28, officials at Tazewell (TN) Speedway have postponed the season opening Charles Trammell Memorial another week to its new date of Saturday April 4.

    The Easter Weekend special will feature the Limited Late Models gunning for $2,050 to win in the Sixth Annual Charles Trammell Memorial. Cory Hedge(not a nice word)(not a nice word)(not a nice word)(not a nice word) of Loudon, Tenn. is the defending winner of the event. Also on the racing card on April 4 will include the Sportsman, Super Stocks, Four Cylinders and Classic cars.

    This will be the first time since Gary Hall purchased the track in 2005 that there hasn’t been a race ran in the month of March. “It’s unfortunate with the weather the past month for our fans and drivers,” stated track owner Gary Hall. “We appreciate everyone’s patience and support these last few weeks but we can only go with what the weather does week to week,” said Hall again.

    On Saturday April 4 at Tazewell Speedway, the pit gates will swing open at 4:00 pm, while the main grandstand gates open at 5:00 pm. The driver’s meeting will be at 6:00 pm and hot laps will follow. Adult general admission is $12.00 with children nine and under admitted free with a paying adult. Pit Passes are $30.00.

    Previous Charles Trammell Memorial winners include: Cory Hedge(not a nice word)(not a nice word)(not a nice word)(not a nice word) (2014), Billy Ogle Jr. (2013 & 2010), Steve Smith (2012) and Vic Hill (2011).

    Coming up on Saturday April 11, the World of Outlaws Late Model Series will invade the Tazewell Speedway for the Ray Varner Ford 50 paying $10,000-to-win. See the cars and stars of the World of Outlaws which include point leader Shane Clanton of Georgia, Kentucky drivers Darrell Lanigan and Eric Wells, West Virginia hot shoe Josh Richards, Illinois driver Frank Heckenast Jr., New Yorker Tim McCreadie, the Pennsylvania drivers of Rick Eckert, Mason Zeigler, Chub Frank and Rick “Boom” Briggs, Brandon Overton of Appleton, Ga., Texas driver Morgan Bagley and Jordan Yaggy of Rochester, Minn.
