Jimmy Mars when he had the deal with Parker Stores to run some ASA stuff. They put this car together to run dirt when he wasn't running those. Can't remember the exact year but somewhere around the mid 90s. I believe the ASA deal lasted one year. The next year he changed back to 28, still black car. I think within 2-3 years Parker Stores was out of sport. They also sponsored Donny Schatz around the sametime.
I got a hero card of this car somewhere. I'll see if I can dig it out and answer this question.
He ran parker on yellow 28 too for awhile, i have the shirt somewhere, most the shirt glowed in the dark. always liked the front end of the of the car, had a tiger holding something in its mouth. Kinda intimidating.
Jimmy ran ARCA in 2000 for La Favre Racing out of Lakeville Mn.
He beat out Jamie Mc Murry and Travis Quapil for rookie of the year.
The only ASA Race he ran was at the Minnesota State Fair.
That's pretty cool..................being that I absolutely hate the white with blue 28 number,I couldn't believe that I did find one of those color cars that I liked......
The 93 photo at lasalle where he was sporting the old style brewery sponsorship.
Man, hadn't seen one of those beers since college...........
I rolled a bunch of that stuff into convenient stores while working my way through school on a beer truck.
I like the Parker cars jimmy had...................thanks for sharing butch.
The white 28s of Mars are some of the plainest, drab looking LMs out there, nothing has changed in a dozen+ years. Wouldn't you think the sponsors would want something other then that same dull looking white with decals car? Most super stocks look better then that plain jane. I guess jimmy hasn't moved out of the 1990s yet!
One thing about that white 28, you can instantly pick it out of the sea of color on the track. It used to be, that splash of color car stood out, not so much any more. I kind of like cars that stand out in the crowd. So many have the same shade of red, blue white or green now days, it's hard to pick them out at times.
i have always been a big Jimmy Mars fan. This is one of his first cars
This, I like............
I think it's the stupid looking kaleidoscopic design he uses in his number that is my biggest turn off...........the scheme in this photo is VERY NICE, bout as good as it gets in my opinion.
