CARTERSVILLE, GA – Week 4 of the 27-week 2015 NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series season will feature nine races in seven states, with two events on Friday night and seven races on Saturday night. Two tracks will also have their 2015 season openers for NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series competition this weekend.

Penton Raceway in Penton, AL will host their 2015 season opener for the NeSmith Late Models this Friday night. Hattiesburg Speedway in Hattiesburg, MS will also be in action on Friday night with the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series Late Models.

The NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series Late Models will be in action on Saturday night for Round 3 of the 2015 NeSmith Panhandle Challenge Series at Southern Raceway in Milton, FL. Greenville Speedway in Greenville, MS will present its 2015 season opener for the NeSmith Late Models this Saturday night.

Also on the Saturday night NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series Week 4 schedule of events will be Battleground Speedway in Highlands, TX, Camden Speedway in Camden, TN, Magnolia Motor Speedway in Columbus, MS, St. Tammany Raceway in Lacombe, LA, and Talladega Short Track in Eastaboga, AL.

The NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series co-sanctioned race with the Southern Crate Late Model Series scheduled for Saturday night at Sabine Motor Speedway in Many, LA has been postponed due to track equipment issues. The race will be rescheduled for a later date.

Michael Arnold of Hattiesburg, MS leads the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series point standings, and has a four-point lead over 13-year-old Cruz Skinner of Oxford, AL. Skinner also leads the Sunoco Young Guns Challenge Series for drivers 18 years of age and younger. Arnold has 146 points and Skinner has 142 points.

The NeSmith Panhandle Challenge Series point leader Joseph Joiner of Milton, FL is third in the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series standings with 139 points. Justin McRee of Woodstock, AL is fourth with 132 points. Nick Thrash of Meridian, MS and Sid Scarbrough of Florence, MS are tied for the fifth spot with 131 points apiece.

Shannon Lee of Lumberton, MS and David Kay of Eastaboga, AL are tied for the seventh spot in the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series standings with 98 points apiece. Adam Cummings of Odenville, AL is ninth with 96 points. Cliff Williams of Star, MS and Mark Clifton of Brewton, AL are tied for tenth with 95 points apiece.

Drivers in the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series will compete against each other nationally using a points system that will count their best 14 weekly point totals over a 27-week season from March 23 through September 27. The $20,000 National point fund will pay $10,000 to the National Champion and pay back to the Top 10 drivers in the final point standings.

NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series competitors have the option of two different economical Chevrolet Performance Circle Track Engines to compete with. The aluminum-head 400 horsepower 604 engine costs $5,795 and the steel-head 350 horsepower Chevrolet Performance 602 Circle Track Engine with a 100-pound weight break costs $3,495.
