Spring Nationals Series Event at Golden Isles Speedway Postponed Due to Rain

WAYNESVILLE, GA (April 18, 2015)—The Old Man’s Garage Spring Nationals Series presented by Schaeffer’s Oil event at Golden Isles Speedway has been postponed due to incoming storms this afternoon.

The National Weather Service shows a very high percentage of thunderstorms coming in between 4:00 and 7:00 pm and Golden Isles Speedway promoter Darryl Courson and Series Promoter Ray Cook have come to an agreement to postpone the event and keep teams from traveling any further. Both parties are looking for a suitable makeup date and will be announced soon.

“We hate it especially for our teams who have traveled and traveled so far this season. Hopefully we can make it up to them,” commented Series Promoter Ray Cook.

The series has six points paying events left on the schedule. The series will now move to Smoky Mountain Speedway in Maryville, Tenn. next Saturday April 25th for the Tennessee Tipoff Classic paying $6,000-to-win. The track will host the Southern Allstars tour on Friday Night April 24th for a $5,000-to-win event before the Spring Nationals event on Saturday.
