CARTERSVILLE, GA – Several NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series drivers will be working on winning streaks as Week 10 unfolds with ten races at nine tracks over four days in six different states. The first race has already been completed and another race has already been rained out. There will also be the first race of a Kansas-based series this weekend.

Cody Smith of Holt, FL scored the first NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series Week 10 victory on Monday night in the NeSmith Panhandle Challenge Series $1,000-to-win race at Flomaton Speedway in Flomaton, AL. It was the second win of the season for Smith in the Smith’s Performance Rocket.

Thursday night’s NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series Week 10 race scheduled for Talladega Short Track in Eastaboga, AL has been rained out. Talladega Short Track still has an opportunity to get a Week 10 race in, as they are also schedule to be in action on Saturday night.

Hattiesburg Speedway in Hattiesburg, MS and Magnolia Motor Speedway in Columbus, MS are scheduled to host Friday night NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series Week 10 races. The NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series will also begin a new partnership with a well-known series in Week 10.

The NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series will team up with the Wichita, KS-based National Championship Racing Association to present a series of races in Kansas, Missouri and Oklahoma called the NeSmith/NCRA Late Model Series. The first race will be this Saturday night at 81 Speedway in Wichita, KS promoted by NCRA President and former RPM National Promoter of the Year C. Ray Hall.

Northwest Florida Speedway in Baker, FL will present its first NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series race of the 2015 season this Saturday night with Round 5 of the NeSmith Panhandle Challenge Series. Smith will be looking for his third win and second straight of the season. Other NeSmith Panhandle Challenge Series winners this season have been Joseph Joiner of Milton, FL and Shep Lucas of McKenzie, AL.

Also hosting Saturday night NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series Week 10 races will be Battleground Race Park in Highlands, TX where Howard Willis of Dayton, TX will be looking for his third straight win, Camden Speedway in Camden, TN, Greenville Speedway in Greenville, MS and Talladega Short Track.

Michael Arnold of Hattiesburg, MS leads the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series standings with 384 points and the fifth highest Weekly Point Average, or WPA, at 48 out of a possible 50. Arnold has won three races over the last four weeks of competition. Shannon Lee of Lumberton, MS is second in the standings with 332 points and the sixth highest WPA at 47.43.

Joiner is third in the standings with 326 points and the tenth highest WPA among the Top 20 drivers in the point standings at 46.57. Joiner also leads the NeSmith Panhandle Challenge Series point standings. Three-time NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series West Region Champion Lucky Keeton of Collinsville, MS is fourth with 282 points and the ninth highest WPA at 47.

The 2013 NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series National Champion Noah Daspit of Kiln, MS is fifth in the standings with 277 points and a WPA of 46.17. Al Kouhout of Hattiesburg, MS is sixth in the standings with 259 points and a WPA of 43.17.

Cruz Skinner of Oxford, AL is seventh in the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series standings with 242 points, and the 13-year-old driver has the second-highest WPA among the Top 20 drivers at 48.4. Skinner will be looking for his fourth straight win and his fifth of the season in Week 10 action.

Skinner also leads the Sunoco Young Guns Challenge Series point standings for NeSmith Late Model drivers 18 years of age and younger. Sunoco Young Guns Challenge Series drivers will compete for a $5,000 point fund that will pay $1,000 to the top Sunoco Young Gun at the end of the season.

Cliff Williams of Star, MS is eighth in the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series standings with 241 points and has the fourth highest WPA at 48.2. Hunter Lewis of Moss Point, MS is ninth in the standings with 240 points and a WPA of 44.

Robbie Starnes of Livingston, TX rounds out the Top 10 of the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series standings with 236 points and the eighth highest WPA at 47.2. Starnes also leads the Southern Crate Late Model Series point standings run in conjunction with the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series.

To find the driver with the highest WPA among the Top 20 drivers in the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series point standings, one has to look down to the 16th-place driver Mike Palasini Jr. of Leland, MS, who has 198 points, and the number one WPA at 49.5. Palasini will be looking for his fourth straight win in Week 10 competition.

Two other drivers to stay focused on in the coming weeks have the third and seventh highest WPAs respectively, Adam Cummings of Odenville, AL and Randy Lovell of Lumberton, TX. Cummings is 17th in the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series standings with 193 points, and a WPA of 48.25. Lovell is 18th in the standings with 189 points and a WPA of 47.25.

Drivers in the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series will compete against each other nationally using a points system that will count their best 14 weekly point totals over a 27-week season from March 23 through September 27. The $20,000 National point fund will pay $10,000 to the National Champion and pay back to the Top 10 drivers in the final point standings.

NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series competitors have the option of two different economical Chevrolet Performance Circle Track Engines to compete with. The aluminum-head 400 horsepower 604 engine costs $5,795 and the steel-head 350 horsepower Chevrolet Performance 602 Circle Track Engine with a 100-pound weight break costs $3,495.
