I'm thinking about trying to hit up Daugherty Speedway as I might be traveling near there for work around the hell tour race. Is the place worth checking out?

I haven't been since it has re-opened after being shuttered for a few years. Previously it was always a very competitve track when I was there. They always seemed to have a dust problem but being out in the middle of no where, with wind constantly blowing, trying to keep moisture in the track has to be difficult. Some say that since it is a former pavement track that they have put dirt over the asphalt, that is the cause of it being dusty.

Speaking of wind, you will have a rather closeup view of the nearby wind farm. I am personally thinking about heading up that way myself for a look see. Hopefully they can draw a decent car count but since they don't run late models regularly, it might be a shorter field than normal.

the asphalt at boswell is ground up and lies in the pits and parking lot. it is a dirt track but the stands are on the north side and prevailing winds are southerly hence the dust issue

and the old dirt track is 20 feet under the old one and i like it much more.. was a lot more banking on the old track A LOT more .. I Loved that old Track.....If you dig down 18 feet in the center you would hit the roof of the old food shack..
