USCS Outlaw Thunder Tour winged sprint cars and Jamie Blalack Memorial Street Stock Race headline “Saturday Speed Spectacular” at Greenville Speedway on Saturday (June 20th)

Greenville, MS – June 15, 2015 – Mid South race fans get a double shot of special events when the re-scheduled United Sprint Car Series presented by K&N Filters winged sprint cars are joined on this Saturday’s action-packed racing card by the Jamie Blalack Memorial Street Stock Race at Greenville Speedway in Greenville, Mississippi . The event for the USCS sprint cars is the re-scheduled Round #2 of the 10th annual USCS Sprint Car Speedweek presented by Hoosier Race Tires that was rained out on Sunday, May 24th. The street stock special is the 7th annual Jamie Blalck Memorial event honoring former Greenville Speedway racer Jamie Blalack.

The sprint car portion of the event is expected to bring top winged sprint car drivers from at least five states to the challenging 1/4 mile high-banked black gumbo oval seeking a stop in the www.RockAuto.com USCS Victory Lane. This will be race number nine of the 2015 season for the United Sprint Car Series Outlaw Thunder Tour. The event awards both USCS National and Mid South regional series championship points as well as points toward the USCS Sprint Speedweek 2015 mini-series title.

The 7th annual Jamie Blalack Memorial Race is one of the area’s top event’s annually for street stock racers. The winner will receive $1500 pay day plus contingency items including products from K&N Filters. The format includes time trial qualifying. The driver who posts the fastest time will receive a $100 cash prize as well. Drivers who start the main event are guaranteed a $150 payout. During its 6 previous events as many as 45 entries have competed for the champion’s trophy.

An action filled racing program awaits race fans when things get kicked off on Saturday night. The power packed USCS sprint car racing format will include test and tune hot laps followed by the evening's first sprint car race, the Hoosier Tire Speed Dash that showcases the top six cars from the previous USCS main event in an edge-of-your-seat six-car , six-lap shootout. Next up will be qualifying heat races followed by Last Chance/B-Main race(s). The evening’s grand finale for the sprint cars will be the 30-lap USCS winged sprint car A-main event for the cars expected to reach speeds over 100 miles per hour at Greenville Speedway.

At least four previous winners of USCS winged sprint car main events at Greenville Speedway are entered. Those include past USCS Champion, Marshall Skinner from Marion, Arkansas who won on the series first visit to the track in July of 2007. Eleven-time USCS National Champion Terry Gray from Bartlett, Tennessee who won on the series second visit in September of 2007 is also entered as are three-time Gumbo Nationals Sprint Car Champion and 2012 USCS National Champion, Tim Crawley from Benton, Arkansas Another USCS past Champion and Gumbo Nationals sprint car Champion, Eddie Gallagher from Olive Branch, Mississippi is entered as well. All of these drivers plus more top drivers from at least five states as far away Florida are entered for this special sprint car event.

The busy racing program also includes the cars and stars of Greenville Speedway’s Super Late Model, Nesmith Dirt Late Model and Open Wheel Modified weekly racing divisions. The Nesmith Dirt Late Model division drivers will be contesting a special double feature format.
