Heavy Overnight Rains/Inclement Weather Forecast Cancels Ponderosa Speedway June 26

Junction City, KY-June 26, 2015- Ponderosa Speedway was set to return to action with the 5th Annual Weekend Warrior event tonight Friday June 26, but uncooperative weather has forced track promoter Jerry Denson to cancel the racing program scheduled for this evening. It is the third consecutive rained out event at the 3/8 mile D-shaped red clay oval better known as “Kentucky’s Baddest Bullring”.

Heavy overnight rains moved through the area of Ponderosa Speedway late overnight Thursday and into the early morning hours on Friday have left the grounds soaked, along with a flash flood watch issued for the area and the potential for more heavy rain and severe storms coming in during the afternoon and evening hours according to local weather forecasts, the track has decided to cancel the racing program set for tonight June 26. A make-up date for the 5th Annual Weekend Warrior is being looked at, but has not been determined at this time.

The track was already scheduled to be off Friday July 3 for the Lincoln County Fair, so the next event now at Ponderosa Speedway is scheduled for Friday July 10 and will be the 15th Annual Hugh “Junebug” Rowland Memorial that will pay $3,000 to win for Super Late Models, along with a full racing program in all other divisions.

Ponderosa Speedway is located at 365 Phillips Lane on the Boyle/Lincoln County border, outside of Junction City, KY, just minutes from Danville, KY. Jerry Denson is the track promoter.
