    Default I-75 Raceway Stars 'n Stripes 40 Special Event July 4th 2015

Stars ‘n Stripes 40 coming July 4th to I-75 Raceway

    June 26, 2015 | Posted by I-75 Webmaster
Sweetwater, TN – I-75 Raceway will celebrate the 4th of July in style on Saturday Night, July 4th. On the schedule for the night will be Limited Late Model, Sportsman, B-Hobby, Thunder, Four Cylinder, and Front Wheel Drive. Fans are sure to be treated to some great racing action, as all divisions will be running for beefier purses, as well as extra bonus money will be up for grabs, allowing drivers to cash in.

Limited Late Model will pay $2,004 to the winner, with $124 to start. Sportsman will be $604 to win, with $64 to start. B-Hobby and Four Cylinder will each be $404 to win and $44 to start. Thunder and Front Wheel Drive will each be $304 to win and $34 to start.

In addition to qualifying and heat races, every division will have a guaranteed money dash following qualifying and heat races. The top 4 qualifiers or heat race finishers in each division will have 4 laps to compete for a winner-take-all $124. The finish position of each dash will not affect the starting lineup for the feature. During intermission, we’ll have a HUGE fireworks show for the fans to enjoy.

Additionally, fans will be treated by a live performance from local musician Joey Wilson from 5-7p in the Food Court. Pizza Hut will also have their trailer set up selling their personal pan pizzas, brownies, and their famous chocolate chip cookies. Also the world famous Angie Kyle desserts while they last! Fans will also be eligible to win door prizes throughout the night, thanks to local business donations.

To recap on the season to date, in B-Hobby, there have been 7 different winners after 12 races, with 5 drivers sharing the most wins at 2 each, while averaging 10 cars. In Sportsman, there have been 5 different winners after 12 races, with Darren Goins dominating as he’s collected 6 feature wins, while averaging 12 cars. The Thunder division has seen 7 different winners after 12 races, with 2 drivers sharing the most at 3 wins each, while averaging 7 cars. Limited Late Model has seen 7 different winners after 12 races, with Cory Hedge(not a nice word)(not a nice word)(not a nice word)(not a nice word) being the dominate driver with 4 wins, while averaging 18 cars. The Four Cylinder division has seen 6 different winners in 12 races, with Dustin Pueirtt leading in the win column at 5 wins, while averaging 9 cars. Front Wheel Drive has seen 6 different winners after 11 races, with Kane Pelfrey leading the win column at 4 wins, while averaging 6 cars.

In addition to the beefier purses, if a driver can win both the feature and the dash, that driver will walk away with the maximum payday. The feature and dash winners in Thunder & Front Wheel Drive, with 8 cars, could walk away with a cool $428. If a driver can do the same in B-Hobby or Four Cylinder, the payoff could be $528. In Sportsman, the winner could walk away with $728, and in Limited Late Model, a cool $2,128 could be hauled away. Just for the winners alone, that’s $4,024 just for the feature winners without the bonus money.

Additionally, Bill & Sandy Goss, owners of Copper Cove Cabin Rentals, has just today signed on as sponsor of I-75 Raceway. They will be sponsoring the $124 Dash 4 Cash for the Sportsman and Limited Late Model divisions. In addition to that, they will also be providing the winners of both Sportsman and Limited Late Model a free three night stay at one of their cabins after the Labor Day holiday! That’s a $485 value each for the winners! They have zip lines, a boat dock, real nice cabins, as well as ATV trails, all located on beautiful Norris Lake, just a short drive from Knoxville! Drivers, here are a couple courtesy reminders:
    1. Raceceivers are MANDATORY in all divisions, at any time in which the car is on the race track (hotlaps, qualifying, heat race, or feature). Any driver without a raceceiver could be sent back to the pits. Any driver not responding to instructions on the raceceiver is subject to receiving the black flag.
    2. Schedules are handed out at driver sign-in. All drivers are responsible for knowing when they need to be lined up. We will do our best to have someone assisting with that this Saturday. Any cars not promptly lined up for hotlaps could miss hotlaps entirely, and drivers not promptly lined up for heat races and/or features will start on the rear. Any driver not promptly lined up for qualifying will receive only 1 lap.
This Saturday is a big night for us, we have a lot going on, we have a goal in mind of when we'd like everyone to be heading home, so this will be strictly enforced, no exceptions. Thank you.
