    Default Distributor/Timing

With the distributor locked out, Where would you set the inital timing?.... Just set at 32*- 36* at 3000 rpm and not worry about it or what? Never ran a locked out one ....Thanks

With a locked distributor you only have one timing setting. Bring the rpm up around 2500 and hold it steady to take any play out of the timing chain and cam/dist gear and set it at 32-36 range.
With the ignition set-up like this I suggest (if you dont all ready) wiring the starter up so you can get the engine cranking over and then flip a switch to put power to the ignition system. Eric

Start at 32 to be safe and then read the plugs. Different chamber shapes have different requirements. What kind of heads do you? dome or flat top?

Every set of 441,487,993 heads I ran dynoed best at 36*. Voretc heads like to be at 32*. The dyno is the only way to know for sure. Plus timing lights will all be slightly different. Good luck. Eric
