CARTERSVILLE, GA – Going into Week 19 of the 27-week 2015 NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series season, the top three drivers in the point standings have reached the 14 week mark of their respective seasons and are netting points. The drivers in the fourth through seventh spots in the points chase still have one more week to earn full points.

That should make for a “shake and bake” week in NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing competition with some drivers moving up in stature, and others, dropping down the list. Other drivers in the Top 20 of the point standings still have anywhere from two to four weeks to earn full points.

Week 19 will see eight races in six states. The lone Friday night event will be held at Hattiesburg Speedway in Hattiesburg, MS. On Saturday night, Jackson Motor Speedway in Jackson, MS will host a $1,000-to-win I-20 Challenge Series race, and the NeSmith Panhandle Challenge Series will be in action on Saturday night at Southern Raceway in Milton, FL.

The NeSmith/NCRA Late Model Series will return to 81 Speedway in Wichita, KS on Saturday night. Other Week 19 NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series Saturday night races are scheduled for Battleground Race Park in Highlands, TX, Camden Speedway in Camden, TN, Greenville Speedway in Greenville, MS, and Talladega Short Track in Eastaboga, AL.

Michael Arnold of Hattiesburg, MS leads the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series standings with a best 14 week total of 690 points, or ten points away from a perfect best 14 week score of 700 points. Arnold will be looking to net on a 46 in Week 19 competition.

Sid Scarbrough of Florence, FL is ninth in the standings with 525 points and one more week to earn full points. Robbie Starnes of Livingston, TX rounds out the Top 10 in the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series standings with 524 points and three more weeks to earn full points. Starnes also leads the NeSmith Racing Co-Sanctioned Southern Crate Late Model Series point standings.

Sunoco Young Guns Challenge Series driver 17-year-old Cole Daffron of Pell City, AL is 11th in the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series point standings, but he has the eighth highest WPA at 46.18. Drivers in the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series will compete against each other nationally using a points system that will count their best 14 weekly point totals over a 27-week season from March 23 through September 27. The $20,000 National point fund will pay $10,000 to the National Champion and pay back to the Top 10 drivers in the final point standings.
