CARTERSVILLE, GA - Point leader Michael Arnold of Hattiesburg, MS continues to close in on clinching the 2015 NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series $10,000 National Championship, as he scored two wins in Week 19 action driving The Strength Center Special. With eight weeks remaining in the 27-week season, Arnold now has a best 14 week total of 694 points, just six points away from a perfect 14 week total of 700 points.

Arnold took his 12th win of the season on Friday night at Hattiesburg Speedway in Hattiesburg, MS and followed that up with win number 13 on Saturday night at Greenville Speedway in Greenville, MS. In 25 races, Arnold has 13 wins, 17 top five finishes and 20 top ten finishes.

Shannon Lee of Lumberton, MS is second in the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series standings with a best 14 week total of 661 points after one win, 15 top five finishes and 17 top ten finishes in 17 races. Lee finished second on Friday night at Hattiesburg Speedway in the Billy Riels Racing Special in his final week to earn full points.

Joseph Joiner of Milton, FL is third in the standings after a second-place finish in the NeSmith Panhandle Challenge Series race on Saturday night at Southern Raceway in Milton, FL where he netted on a 40. Joiner has a best 14 week total of 653 points after two wins, 13 top five finishes and 15 top ten finishes driving the Three Trade Consultants Special. Joiner also leads the NeSmith Panhandle Challenge Series points.

Mike Palasini Jr. of Leland, MS used the 41 points he earned for a 13th-place finish on Saturday night at Greenville Speedway in his last week to earn full points to climb up to the fourth spot in the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series standings with 651 points. Palasini has six wins and 12 top five finishes in 15 races driving the MP Trucking Special.

Greg Fore of Greenville, MS is fifth in the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series standings with a best 14 week total of 634 points after two wins, nine top five finishes and 13 top ten finishes in 16 races. Fore drove the Washington Body Shop GRT to a third-place finish on Saturday night at Greenville Speedway.

Bobby Jordan of McCarley, MS was able to net five points with a fifth-place finish on Saturday night at Greenville Speedway driving the SMJ Race Parts Trak-Star. That put Jordan in the sixth spot of the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series standings with a best 14 week total of 633 points after two wins, eight top five finishes and 11 top ten finishes in 19 races.

Cruz Skinner of Oxford, AL remains a NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series National Championship contender, as he posted his seventh win of the season on Saturday night at Talladega Short Track in Eastaboga, AL driving the Skinner’s Body Shop CVR. The 13-year-old driver is seventh in the standings with 631 points after seven wins, 12 top five finishes and 14 top ten finishes in 15 races over 13 weeks.

With one more week to earn full points, Skinner will be looking to climb up the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series point standings in the coming weeks. Skinner also leads the Sunoco Young Guns Challenge Series point standings for NeSmith Late Model drivers 18 years of age and younger.

The 2013 NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series National Champion Noah Daspit of Kiln, MS did not compete in Week 19 action and dropped to eighth in the standings with 616 points. Daspit has five wins, ten top five finishes and 14 top ten finishes in 15 races over 13 weeks driving the Billy Riels Racing Special. Daspit has one more week to earn full points, which could vault him right back up into the Top 5.

Robbie Starnes of Livingston, TX climbed up to the ninth spot in the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series standings with 574 points after driving the Lonestar Hydro and Maintenance Special to his fourth win of the season on Saturday night with a $1,000 victory in the I-20 Challenge Series race at Jackson Motor Speedway in Jackson, MS.

Starnes has four wins, 12 top five finishes and 14 top ten finishes in 14 races over 12 weeks. Starnes is another title contender, as he still has two more weeks to earn full points. A pair of 50-point wins would bring is point total up to 674 points and into the Top 5 of the point standings in the coming weeks.

Sid Scarbrough of Florence, MS rounds out the Top 10 of the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series standings with 568 points after four top five finishes and ten top ten finishes in 15 races over 13 weeks. Scarbrough drove the Villa South Trak-Star to an eighth-place finish on Saturday night at Jackson Motor Speedway.

In other NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series Week 19 action, Delbert Smith of Wichita, KS drove the BSB Manufacturing Special to his second win of the season on Saturday night in the NeSmith/NCRA Late Model Series race at 81 Speedway in Wichita, KS. Ronnie Cooper of McKenzie, TN took his fifth win of the season on Saturday night at Camden Speedway in Camden, TN driving the Ronnie Cooper Trucking Rocket.

Taylor Jarvis of Milton, FL drove the Myers Yacht Sales Special to his second NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series win of the season on Saturday night in the NeSmith Panhandle Challenge Series race at Southern Raceway. Battleground Race Park in Highlands, TX did not report their Saturday night NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series Late Model results.
