Car Explosions, Steel Wall Crash, Fireworks, & Racing Coming To Macon Speedway Anticipation Builds For Saturday's Craziness Of First Eve Of Destruction Macon Speedway will be entertainment central for family fun this coming Saturday, August 15, as the first ever Eve of Destruction is held at the facility. Final preparations are being put into place for car explosions, a steel wall crash, fireworks, racing and more. Discount coupons for the event are located throughout the area including Donnelly Automotive Machine CARQUEST Auto Parts and Dale's Southlake Pharmacy. Fans, both young and young at heart, will be treated to world renowned, Mr. Dizzy, who has appeared on the HISTORY Channel TV show, American Daredevils. Mr. Dizzy is a five time world record holder for different stunts that he has been able to accomplish. Mr. Dizzy will escape an exploding vehicle and be part of a steel wall crash. In addition to those two events, fireworks will close out the show that includes racing action in four of Macon Speedway's divisions. Competing during the night will be the Midwest Big Ten Series DIRTcar UMP Pro Late Models in the Shrine 50, UMP Street Stocks, Beach House Micros, and UMP Hornets. Mr Dizzy Motorsports and his wild and crazy buddies will be on hand at Shaner's Towing and Auto Salvage in Springfield on Friday to perform a death-defying firewalk. 92.7 QLZ will be on hand, providing a live radio remote of this dangerous stunt to kick off the weekend. Pit gates open Saturday at 4:00, grandstands at 5:00, registration closes at 6:00 when hotlaps begin, and racing will take the green at 7:00. Big Ten Points & Extra Money On The Line For Pro Late Models Headline Division Part Of Macon Speedway Eve Of Destruction Show In addition to all the craziness from the Eve Of Destruction festivities at Macon Speedway this coming Saturday night, four racing divisions are also scheduled to put on a great show. Among them are the Midwest Big Ten Series Pro Late Models, UMP Street Stocks, UMP Hornets, and Beach House Micros. The Midwest Big Ten Series Pro Late Models are led this season by Springfield, IL driver Guy Taylor, who has won three of the four feature events. With two wins at Macon, one at Lincoln, and a worst run of third at Lincoln in June, Taylor will be the favorite to find victory lane tomorrow night. However, drivers like Nick Bauman, Tommy Sheppard, Roben Huffman, and Tom Krankel are top five in points for a reason. They will be knocking on Taylor’s door, wanting to savor the taste of a Big Ten victory. Bauman did claim the Lincoln win on June 12. Tomorrow night’s Big Ten Pro Late Model race will pay $700 to win for the 25-lap affair. A strong field of cars is expected, as the Big Ten Pro Late Models have not had a race since July 3. After a week off for the Decatur Festival, solid fields will most likely arrive for the other classes as well. The evening will be highlighted by Macon Speedway’s first ever Eve Of Destruction.
