Jason Krohn Takes Two USMTS Wins in Weekend Action; Jamboree Next

Slayton, Minnesota (09/08/15) – Jason Krohn has had limited starts in his Krohn Farms #7k MB Customs Modified in 2015, but over the weekend he performed at the highest level by bagging a pair of United States Modified Touring Series (USMTS) victories.

On Wednesday night Jason Krohn returned to action in his Krohn Farms #7k MB Customs Modified at Hamilton County Speedway (Webster City, Iowa). With twenty-two cars signed in for the Hunt for the United States Modified Touring Series (USMTS) Casey’s Cup event, Jason transferred into the feature with a 4th place finish in his heat. Battling for a $3,000 payday in the finale, Krohn retired with handling issues to a 20th place finish.

The next night brought Jason to Fairmont Raceway (Fairmont, Minnesota), competing in the tenth night of The Hunt for the Casey’s Cup. Coming from 7th in his heat, Krohn cruised to the victory, setting him up for the feature event. Advancing seven spots in the feature event, Jason Krohn bagged the $3,000 A-Main victory with Jason Hughes, Jason Cummins, Jesse Sobbing, and Rodney Sanders trailing him to the finish line. Leading all but five laps, Jason captured his second feature win of the season.

On Saturday night Jason headed to Deer Creek Speedway (Spring Valley, Minnesota) for another Hunt for the Casey’s Cup program. Drawing a stout field of forty-four Open Wheel Modifieds, Krohn transferred into the feature with a 2nd place finish in his heat. Battling for another $3,000 payday in the 40-lap A-Main, Jason Krohn captured his 3rd win of the season with Zack VanderBeek, Jason Hughes, Dereck Ramirez, and Joe Duvall rounding out the top five.

“We haven’t raced the Modified much this year, so I didn’t know exactly what to expect this weekend, but these two wins definitely far exceeded any and all expectations that we had,” Krohn said with a smile. “It’s really exciting to have performed so well at Deer Creek. Hopefully we can have a repeat performance at the Fall Jamboree in a few weeks.”

Thursday and Friday’s programs will be headlined by $5,000-to-win features, while Saturday night’s finale will pay $10,000-to-win. For more information on the events, please visit www.USMTS.com .
