Riley Hickman Sweeps Tennessee Specials; World 100 Next

Cleveland, Tennessee (09/08/15) – Riley Hickman enjoyed a very successful Labor Day weekend in his Hickman Manufacturing #R1 Austin Trucking/Club 29 Super Late Model as he raced to a pair of $3,500 victories in his home state.

Riley Hickman headed to Thunderhill Raceway (Summertown, Tennessee) on Saturday night for the Super Late Model Labor Day special. Paying $3,500 to the feature winner, Riley laid down the quickest lap in time trials. With 40-laps set on the scoreboard, Riley captured the Labor Day special event notching his 14th victory on the 2015 season. He was followed across the finish line by Eric Hickerson, Brad Skinner, Josh Putnam, and Daniel Miller.

The following night brought Hickman to Duck River Raceway Park (Wheel, Tennessee) for another unsanctioned $3,500 to win feature event. Drawing twenty-three Super Late Models for the Sam Pugh Late Model Extravaganza, Riley recorded the quickest time in qualifying. Inheriting the lead on lap 15, Riley cruised to his fifteenth feature win. Holding off Tanner English for the final laps, Hickman grabbed a two-win weekend with English, David Gentry, Eric Hickerson, and Josh Putman completing the top five.

“It feels good to win anytime, but it really feels good to get two big wins in my home state,” Hickman said with a smile. “Now I can only hope that this was all a tune-up for a strong performance at Eldora Speedway this coming weekend.”
