(Travelers Rest, South Carolina) - This weekend’s events for the FASTRAK Racing Series Southeast/Mid-Ohio Valley/National Touring Division is our Labor Day weekend 2015 closeout to summer. The East Coast Rumble featuring over $45,000+ dollars on the line is monster dirt extravaganza not to miss to close out summer and approach quicker the “Road to Jamaica Tour” for the World Championship held September 18th and 19th at Bill Sawyer’s Virginia Motor Speedway for “The Super Bowl of PRO Late Model Racing”. After a long weekend of racing for the FASTRAK stars in the twin Virginia states. The final night of the East Coast Rumble was decided on a Monday evening at the 3/8th mile Travelers Rest Speedway in South Carolina where FASTRAK Racing Series put on a spectacular return for the ages after a 5 year absence. Corey Gordon would come from “worst to first” after being involved in a major wreck in opening to rally from the tail of the field to secure his first ever win to be FASTRAK’s South Carolina State Champion.

The series brought in 23 of the best in the business of pro late model racing as FASTRAK returned after a five year hiatus and put on a tremendous performance in front of a crowd that has been buzzing about this event even 24 hours after being over. The race would be condensed after a major incident in the TRS stock division caused damage to the wall entering turn three halting the show for repairs. The decision between FASTRAK and Scott Childress of the track was to have heads up qualifying and then run the 40 lap feature. The event saw #07 Dale Timms (2012 FASTRAK Rookie of the Year) take the pole in VP Race for the Pole Qualifying with a time of 16.575 seconds around the track. The race would get underway with a major pile up in turn two before a lap was scored. More than a dozen cars we’re involved with worst damage going to #85 Steve Lamance who got crossed up in the pack then collecting #2 Dennis Franklin, #42 Cla Knight, #24 Matthew Nance and more. Some had to be sent to the pits for repairs, one was #23 Corey Gordon. After the sequence of allowing repairs because no laps we’re complete, the field would get the green again and settle for a handful of laps to full song.

Dale Timms would jump out into the top spot trying to secure the victory with #8 Ron Parker, #22 Nick Dietz and others all within distance. The race would go yellow again on lap 6 when #6 Dillon Brown would cut down a tire then retire for remainder of the race. On the restart the battle would rage on again with Parker and company trying to run down Timms. All the while great racing was happening everywhere. The highlight reel was Gordon has he was literally flying through the field at one point passing six cars in just corners one to two and even again back to three and four, he was on the topside where no one else was going make it work. The yellow linen would be displayed to the field again after Wythe Raceway winner from Sunday #83 Jensen Ford would get tangled inadvertently with #93 Chastain Blackwell. Another driver that was making a rally with Gordon in his own course was #57 Zack Mitchell as the Enoree, SC native returned back to FASTRAK competition since 2013 Monday at Travelers Rest.

The green hankie would go up again from Tony Adair and it was Timms pulling away from Parker and drivers who had issues or involved in some capacity with the wreck #42 Cla Knight, #24 Matthew Nance along with #187 David McCoy and #2 Colby Cannon all in the hunt but no one was catching Timms, no one that is but Parker and hot pursuit Gordon. Flash Gordon was right on the back bumpers of the top three when the caution would fall for the final time also lingering back two spots behind Gordon’s 23 machine was the #57 of Mitchell. Caution would come out when #17 Parker Herring and #23 Jimmy McNamara would get tangled exiting turns three and four. On the final restart with 8 laps to go in an already exciting filled race that had the fans on the edge of their seats, business picked up even more.

On the final restart with Parker, Knight and McCoy all racing hard, Gordon would take it top shelf and perform successfully a daring three to four wide move making room where there was none and getting to Parker’s back door powering by him side by side at the stripe and then clearing him permanently into turn two pulling away. In the process of all this madness happening with Timms, Parker, Knight and McCoy the bad end of that deal would be McCoy as he would fall back as #57 Zack Mitchell was coming to. Gordon was fast and furious around the 3/8th mile and determined to not have anyone steal his thunder or moment on this night. Gordon would literally bounce off the wall with the entire rear spoiler damaged and for the most part torn off the car. Mitchell was able to rally by Timms and Parker for the runner up spot, but no one not even the walls was stopping the young superstar whose biggest achievement with FASTRAK before Monday was taking the Triple Crown title in 2014 and being 2013 Rookie of the Year. He’d have the entire feet in a roaring crescendo as he took the checkers being the South Carolina State Champion and picking up his career first FASTRAK National Southeast touring victory where in victory lane he dedicated the win to his grandfather who was sick. Mitchell would again take 2nd with Dale Timms, Ron Parker and Cla Knight both having good solid point’s finishes to round out the top five. Also Ron Parker was able to become the (mini series) points champion to become the Inaugural FASTRAK East Coast Rumble Heavyweight Champion of the World, there will be a additional article on that coming soon.

For the fans leaving and hours after there has been a buzz about what went down at the little 3/8th Carolina red clay oval in South Carolina just outside Spartanburg. The audience in attendance and watching worldwide on the flagship broadcast network for FASTRAK Companies International, Sports Media Net we’re absolutely in shock and awe with the performance that the best in pro late model racing provided on a Monday night to cap off what was a very successful Labor Day Weekend of racing with three different winners, awesome crowds at all events and car count attendance at a premium. Yeah the buzz was out in the pits FASTRAK was the talk of the dirt racing scene especially in the Southeast.
