Ricky Weiss Wins Again; Set to Debut New Scheme at World 100

Headingly, Manitoba, Canada (09/09/15) – Ricky Weiss piloted his Derrick’s Sandblasting #7 Bloomquist Chassis/Pro Power Racing Engine Late Model to his 22nd win of the season over the weekend, and now turns his attention to the 45th Annual World 100 at Eldora Speedway.

Ricky Weiss made the trip to Red River Co-Op Speedway (Winnipeg, Manitoba) on Thursday night for the WISSOTA sanctioned event. With twelve Super Late Models signed in, Weiss gained five spots in his heat capturing the victory. Advancing seven spots in the feature, Ricky came from his 8th place starting spot to win the event. Notching his 22nd victory on the season, Ricky Weiss ousted Dustin Strand, Mike Martin, Mike Balcaen, and Bill Mooney.

On Friday night Ricky headed to I-94 Speedway (Fergus Falls, Minnesota) to do battle against a field of twenty-one Super Late Models. After tearing the deck off in a heat race wreck, Weiss decided to scratch from the remainder of the program and prepare for the rest of the busy weekend.

Ricky Weiss made the trip to Viking Speedway (Alexandria, Minnesota) on Saturday night for the two-day show with the Northern Late Model Racing Association (NLRA). However, rain interrupted the program, and it was determined both programs would be held on Sunday. Improving five spots in his heat, Weiss bagged a 2nd place finish. With a 5th place starting spot in the first feature, Weiss advanced two spots, recording a podium finish behind Don Shaw and Cody Skytland with Jeff Wildung and Dustin Strand completing the top five.

In the second feature of the night, Ricky scored a heat race win from the 5th place starting position. After leading the feature from the drop of the green flag, Weiss got passed in lap traffic late in the event, ultimately registering another 3rd place outing behind Brad Seng and Dustin Strand with Jeff Wildung, and Cole Schill rounding out the top five.

Not only will Weiss be looking to make noise on the track, but he will also be debuting a brand-new, graphic scheme that will be entered in the DirtOnDirt.com Best Appearing Car Contest.
“We’ve had a fantastic year so far, but this weekend will be really big for our team,” said Weiss. “We want see how we measure up against the best Dirt Late Model drivers in the world. I’m also really excited to debut this new scheme.”

Action opens on Thursday and Friday with $5,000-to-win features each night, while Saturday’s program culminates with the $48,000-to-win finale. For more information on the event, please visit www.EldoraSpeedway.com .
