Jimmy Mars Readies for Knoxville Late Model Nationals Following Cedar Lake

(MENOMONIE, WISCONSIN) Jimmy Mars, of Menomonie, Wisconsin, ventured to the renowned Cedar Lake Speedway in New Richmond, Wisconsin on September 18-19 for the annual running of the 'Legendary 100.' After Mother Nature wiped out Friday's action, the entire show was condensed into a one-day program on Saturday. Jimmy ran second in his heat race prior to finishing sixth in the qualifying feature. He was then up to second in the $5,000 to win NASCAR headliner before a bout with a lapped car ultimately sent him to the tail and caused him to retire in the twentieth position. Full results from Cedar Lake can be obtained by clicking on www.cedarlakespeedway.com.

Next up for the Mars Racing team will be a trip to the hallowed Knoxville Raceway in Knoxville, Iowa on September 24-26 for the 12th Annual ‘Lucas Oil Late Model Knoxville Nationals.’ The three-day crown jewel spectacular at the 1/2-mile Marion County Fairgrounds speedplant will start with a pair of $7,000 to win preliminary events on Thursday and Friday. Drivers will earn points in each of the two preliminary nights that will determine the lineups for Saturday evening’s grand finale. On tap on Saturday at Knoxville will be the D-Main, C-Main, B-Main, and the 100-lap headliner, which once again boasts a whopping $40,000 payday.

The award-winning Lucas Oil Productions Studios will be on hand to tape all of the dirt-slinging action from Knoxville Raceway with multiple camera angles, driver interviews, on-board cameras, and various technical segments. The mega-event will air on MAVTV Motorsports Network and NBC Sports Network at a later date in 2015.
