    Default Exhaust pipe length

Other than being on a dyno, is there another way to tell (or would it matter) a proper length on exhaust pipe past the header? Also how about placement of the muffler. (lowbac - 3'' in & outlet)Thanks for any thoughts & input. - F-9

Install the muffler as close to the header as possible and run the extension as short as possible also.,JL

Install a 3" tube approx 48" long onto the collector. Put a white crayon mark for the last 18" or so. The correct length will be where the crayon is no longer burned. This will be approx 42" from the junction of the 4 tubes in the collector. This is the reccomended length from powerbyace.com Put any muffler behind that or better yet build an expansion box equal to 10 times a single cylinder volume instead of a muffler.

Thanks Old Rob, I'll give that a shot. We have to run a dynomax ultra flow.
