    Default Aluminum sheet price?

What are you guys paying for 4X10 .040 aluminum sheets? I found a guy, not local, selling them for $70.00 and another for $63.00. Our local dealer is at $80.00.

There's a steel supply house that carries it not far away but I haven't called 'em on that stuff… yet. I would imagine I could buy direct from the distributor in Chicago but I'd have to drive 200 miles… not worth the $$$ unless I'm in the area.

    What's a fair price?

Seems like you guys could buy aluminum, mark it up and ship it to me for the same price I pay here.

Last time I checked it's around $80 a sheet for 4'x12' locally here (only 2 options that I know of in town). One of the supply houses that carried it claims the manufacturer only is making white and black now, so that's the only colors they carry. And no one carries flat black... booo!

I'm pretty sure that's the case, they are just copping out. Which is ok, we can't make them order stuff they don't want, but sales will likely go down. Double edged sword. I believe they got stuck with a lot of sheets of orange a year or 2 ago and it upset them, so they are doing this.

I just called a big steel supplier in Green Bay…. $80 for 4X10 white. Five sheets gets me a $3 discount per sheet… wow!

Check at sign companies if you have any of them in your area. They always use different colors. Most steel places around here won't try to get colored aluminum. It's not worth the hassle for them.

Wrisco flat black is worthless , it's about as tough as soffit and fascia material .... Wrisco also has insane 1950's territorial restrictions , if you have a dealer within 10,000 miles of you even if he sells 10 sheets a year you can't buy 1000 at one time direct if you want to ...

My car is flat black from Wrisco. No problems at all. The problems I've ever had was with polished. That was over ten years ago. It would crack when I hemmed the edges.

I agree with Huck stay away from the flat black Wrisco.
I have Wrisco flat black on my car and It is a waist of money. Same thickness as gloss colors but very soft like metal 1/2 thickness.
