CARTERSVILLE, GA – As the curtain comes down on the 2015 NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series for Late Models and the NeSmith Performance Parts Street Stock Division seasons, NeSmith Racing officials are already working towards the future. NeSmith Racing has announced that Cotton Bowl Speedway in Paige, TX will be a part of both Divisions in 2016.

The signing of Cotton Bowl Speedway also continues the Westward Expansion of the both the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series and the NeSmith Performance Street Stock Division, as the track is located between Austin, TX and Houston, TX. Next season, Cotton Bowl Speedway drivers in both Divisions will compete for both a track point fund and a National point fund.

“Our fans at Cotton Bowl Speedway love the Late Models, and I love the Late Models, so I wanted to give our fans what they want,” Cotton Bowl Speedway Promoter Danny Bennett said. “This is also going to be big for our Street Stocks, as drivers in both Divisions are excited to get a chance to compete for a National point fund and receive the recognition that goes with it.. We’ve been working on this with NeSmith Racing for a year now, and I decided 2016 was the year to do it.”

Bennett and NeSmith Racing Founder and CEO Mike Vaughn met each other at the RPM Promoter’s Workshop in Daytona Beach, FL last February. Bennett was looking for a Late Model and Street Stock sanctioning body, and Vaughn was looking for a Texas track to continue the series’ Westward Expansion.

“I’ve been talking to Danny for almost a year now, and I feel like we already have a good working relationship,” Vaughn said. “We’re excited to have Cotton Bowl Speedway as a part of our NeSmith Racing family of tracks, and we’re looking forward to working with Danny, his staff, and the Late Model and Street Stock competitors at Cotton Bowl Speedway for the 2016 season and beyond.”

NeSmith Racing representatives will be at Cotton Bowl Speedway on October 8 and 9 for the 4th Annual Showdown/South Texas Street Stock Shootout to meet with track officials and competitors and discuss the NeSmith Racing Weekly Racing Series programs for both Divisions.

“Myself, our Series Director Adam Stewart, and our Technical Director Tim Sims are looking forward to making the trip to Cotton Bowl Speedway on October 8 and 9 for the 4th Annual Showdown/ South Texas Street Stock Shootout to meet Danny, his staff, as well as the Late Model and Street Stock drivers,” Vaughn said. “We will all be more than happy to answer any questions they might have regarding the NeSmith Racing Weekly Racing Series, and how it will benefit them.”

Cotton Bowl Speedway drivers in the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series Late Model Division will compete with other drivers at sanctioned tracks across the country through a points system that will count their best 14 weekly point totals over a 27-week season that runs from March 21, 2016 and runs through September 25, 2016.
