USCS Outlaw Thunder Tour sprint cars returns to their roots at Talladega Short Track on SATURDAY, October 10th

Atlanta, GA – October 6, 2015 - The United Sprint Car Series Outlaw Thunder Tour presented by K&N Filters winged sprint cars return to their roots when they invade Talladega Short Track for the USCS “Shootout at the Short Track” on Saturday, October 10th. The event will be the six hundred and second event in the history of the Fayetteville, Georgia based USCS. The series was established by founder Pete Walton in 1997. The very first event sanctioned by the United Sprint Car Series was held at Talladega Short Track on April 25, 1997. Interestingly, that event was won by defending and 2014 series Champion, Terry Gray from Bartlett, Tennessee. Gray tops the entry list for Saturday's event as an 11-time United Sprint Car Series National Champion.

USCS Outlaw Thunder Tour presented by K&N Filters drivers from seven states are expected for the first appearance of the USCS sanctioned sprint cars at Talladega Short Track in over a decade. All of them will be seeking a visit to the www.rockauto.com USCS victory lane.. In addition to veteran star Terry Gray, who is currently in the runner-up spot in the National point standings the field of entries includes three current USCS National and regional sprint car series point's leaders.

The first is 22 year-old Female sprint car hot-shoe Morgan Turpen from Cordova, Tennessee, who is Gray's team-mate currently eads the UCS National standings. Veteran USCS driver and past National Champion, Marshall Skinner from Marion, Arkansas leads the USCS Mid South Thunder Tour regional series standings. Another young gun, 20 year-old ric Riggins, Jr. from Charlotte, North Carolina tops the standings in the USCS Southern Thunder Tour regional point standings.

The talent laden field also includes 16 year-old 2015 National USCS Rookie of the Year points leader, Nick Snyder from Marco Island, Florida who put his name in the USCS record books in May of this year as one of only a hand full of rookie drivers to win a USXS sprint car main event. Also entered are at least six past USCS Rookie fo the Year drivers who have all developed into series competitors capable of winning as well. A full field of winged USCS sprint cars are pre-entered for Saturday's contest.

The second USCS racing division on the action-packed racing card is the www.rockauto.com USCS 600 Sprint Car Series winged mini sprints. Drivers for that division are expected from five states for Saturday’s event. Those entries include two-time USCS 600 mini sprint Champion Bobby Zaiontz from Columbus, Mississippi who has been a multi-time Talladega Short Track winner.

The three fastest divisions on the TST weekly racing program, the Super Late Models, Sportsman (Limited Late Models), Nesmith Dirt Late Models, plus the Rite-way Auto Sales Hot Shots are all four scheduled for a full program in each division in addition to the two United Speed Contest Sanction (USCS) winged sprint car divisions for a jam-packed racing card. Race teams and race fans will be treated to a full menu of speed contests of racing in six divisions. The event includes over 100 laps of Championship main events with drivers competing for approximately $20,000 in prize money.
Racing action kicks off on Saturday night at 7:30pm with a full racing program in all divisions including the 120 plus mile per hour USCS Outlaw Thunder Tour presented by K&N Filters winged sprint cars. Admission pricing for Saturday’s event is as follows: Adult grandstand $20. Children 6 to 11 years in the grandstands is $5. Children 5 years old and younger in the grandstands are FREE.
