Default Southeast Dirt Modified Series to Debut at Golden Isles Speedway Feb 3rd - 6th!

Southeast Dirt Modified Series to Debut at Golden Isles Speedway as Part of the Super Bowl of Racing, Feb. 3rd-6th, 2016!

(Wilson, North Carolina) – Officials from the Southeast Dirt Modifies Series presented by Octane Race Products are pleased to announce details on the season opener! The much anticipated Southeast Dirt Modified Series has continued to gain momentum since its announcement in July as fans and drivers can now begin the countdown to the kick off the season. As the 2015 dirt racing season comes to a close, Steve Summerlin and Tyler Skinner have already set things in motion for what’s to come in 2016 and the first piece of that puzzle was to book the season opener. We are very excited to announce that the official kick-off to the Inaugural Southeast Dirt Modified Series will be “The Super Bowl of Racing”, February 3rd – 6th, 2016 at the beautiful 4/10ths mile Golden Isles Speedway located in Waynesville Georgia!

The “Super Bowl of Racing” will consist of 4 nights of exciting SEDMS action with Wednesday February 3rd paying $1,500 to the winner, Thursday paying $2,000 to the winner and Friday paying $3,000 to win. It will then culminate in the Saturday night blockbuster finale event paying $4,000 to the winner on February 6th. The Friday and Saturday portion of the show will kick of the 2016 SEDMS points season. Golden Isles Speedway’s “Super Bowl of Racing” will be a huge event for the Modifieds with over $42,000 in prize money being up for grabs.

The “Super Bowl of Racing” weekend will officially be the first points event for the Southeast Dirt Modified Series which will award valuable points to the all-new Southeast championship. It is expected that many of the AMRA drivers will migrate down to the 4/10ths mile Georgia clay as well to shake off the cold Northeastern winter weather. In addition to the Southeast Dirt Modified Tour kicking off 2016 at Golden Isles Speedway, “The Super Bowl of Racing” will also feature the Lucas Oil Late Model Series as well as other GIS weekly divisions.

“We have been receiving positive feedback from fans and racers. We are very excited to host the Southeast Dirt Modified Series” stated veteran promoter Darryl Courson of Golden Isles Speedway “The buzz is absolutely fantastic about this series and I felt it was the right fit for our show, added Courson “To have them making history with their series debut in Georgia and at our facility it only adds further excitement.

“I am extremely excited to launch the Southeast Dirt Modified Series at Golden Isles Speedway, the hype has been building for this modified series in the Southeast United States since the July announcement,” states SEDM co-owner, Steve Summerlin. “We could not be happier to take part in such a prestigious event during the Florida/Georgia Speedweeks. Golden Isles Speedway fans should know that the Super Bowl of Racing is in for a treat when the modified drivers hit the 4/10ths mile track, the wide racing surface will setup well for some action packed side by side racing” concluded Summerlin.

There will be more information forthcoming on the Southeast Dirt Modified Series official season debut during the 2016 edition of the “Super Bowl of Racing” at Golden Isles Speedway.
