Turkey Throwdown at Boyd’s Speedway Pays $5,000 for Southern Nationals Bonus Series on November 14th

BRASSTOWN, NC (November 7, 2015)—Boyd’s Speedway in Ringgold, Ga. is gearing up for their final event of the season on Saturday November 14th and it’ll also be the final stop of the season for the Southern Nationals Bonus Series by Collins Signs to the track located on the Tennessee/Georgia border.

The Southern Nationals Bonus Series Late Models will take to the track for a 50-lap $5,000-to-win and $530-to-start event on November 14th and will feature a complete show of Practice, FK Rod Ends Time Trials, Last Chance Races and the main event. The Limited Late Models will also be on the racing card competing for $1,500-to-win, the Crate Late Models will race for $1,500-to-win, while the A-Hobby and B-Hobby divisions will compete for $500-to-win each and the Road Warrior division will race 15 laps for $125-to-win. The Super Late Models, Limited Late Models and Crate Late Models will be the only classes qualifying that night.

In the series’ first season visit back on March 21, Randy Weaver of Crossville, Tenn. captured the $4,000 payday over Donald McIntosh from Dawsonville, Ga., Jason Hiett of Oxford, Ala., Bub McCool of Vicksburg, Miss. and David Payne of Murphy, N.C.

The track will host an open practice session for all classes on Friday November 13th with the gates opening at 4:00 pm and practice going from 6:00 pm until 10:00 pm. For practice, $10.00 will be charged for a pit pass for any age.

On November 14, the pit gates open at 2:00 pm, the grandstand gates open at 4:00 pm. The driver’s meeting will be at 5:00 pm and hot laps will roll out at 5:30 pm. Adult grandstand general admission is $20.00 per person while children 12 and under are $5.00. Adult pit passes are $35.00 while children 12 and under are $10.00. Transponder rental for all classes is $20.00 and drivers in all divisions must be registered by 5:00 pm. Drivers competing in two divisions must purchase two pit arm bands.

David Payne of Murphy, N.C. currently leads the Southern Nationals Bonus Series points heading into Boyd’s Speedway. Tommy Bailey of Corbin, Ky. Sits second in the series points while Michael Chilton of Salvisa, Ky. sits third. Austin Smith of Cedartown, Ga. and Justin Rattliff of Campbellsville, Ky. round out the top-five in series points heading into the final two points races. Jonathan Davenport won the last series event on October 29th at Tri-County (NC) Race Track and captured his second Tarheel 50 victory over Casey Roberts, Billy Ogle Jr., Donald McIntosh and David Payne.
