Powerglide behind a 604 crate ?

Our sportsman stock car class will only be allowed to run a GM 604 crate engine next year. My car is set up for a pg. Does anyone know of any problems,disadvantages or advantages with running this combo ?

If your car is already setup for it, then run it. The 604 has a 1 piece rear main seal so you may need adapt over from 2pc stuff, if that is what you were running before. Several people run PG in our area. Some are required to run a converter and others run the direct drive hub with success. One concern is not being able to push start if needed unless you get the push start mechanism installed.
