    Default Power steering orfice.

Have a KRC power steering pump, stock GM box and a 2:1 quickener on my Super dirt stock. Hard to turn wheel at idle, and not alot of assist on the track. I think its too small of an orfice. Size E is the biggest orfice KRC makes and was thinking about buying it to try out. What size orfice is everyone using?

I doubt your pump orifice is the problem. More likely its the "T bar" valving in your stock box that cant move twice the fluid due to the 2-1 quickner. You need to be .170 - .185 with a 2-1 quickner and you can steer with one finger. You can look for a used box or I use PSC Steering box's. You can get a 700 series sportsman box at 12-1 and .185 valving for $295.00. Many like Sweet, that same box from sweet will cost over 400.00.

I had the same problem. Racer96 has the answer. I purchased a sweet steering box with .185 valving and it's amazing the difference. Then I purchased a box all-star sells for around 220$ with the same .185 valving. http://www.allstarperformance.com/product.htm?prod=1193 the all-star box has the sweet name stamped in the housing.
