    Default Southeast Dirt Modified Schedule

    Inaugural Season Schedule Revealed

Wilson, N.C. — Officials from the Southeast Dirt Modified Series have released the 2016 schedule of events for its inaugural season that will feature the “The Perfect Storm” for dirt modified racing in the Southeast. The 2016 tour consists of 23 nights of racing over the course of the 9 month season at 12 different venues.

The SEDMS “Perfect Storm” will launch in February with 4 consecutive nights of racing in Southern Georgia. Opening weekend takes place Wednesday-Saturday, Feb. 3rd-6th, at the Golden Isles Speedway in Brunswick, Georgia. The “Super Bowl of Racing” boasts a purse of over $45,000 including a point fund paid out to the top 5 drivers competing over the course of the 4 day show. Following Golden Isles Speedway, the tour will make it’s first of 2 stops in Eastern North Carolina. March 19th and August 13th will see the SEDMS drivers battle it out at County Line Raceway’s 3/8ths mile clay oval for $1,500 and $2,000 to win.

The month of April will certainly be a busy one for the SEDMS. Five stops in the Carolina’s make up the month with stops at Friendship Speedway, newly AMRA sanctioned Fayetteville Motor Speedway, Lancaster Speedway, Carolina Speedway and Dublin Speedway. April’s 5 race schedule will see the tour payout over $46,000 in prize money. Once the month of April is wrapped up, drivers will have battled for close to $100,000 in just the first quarter of the schedule alone.

May, June, July, August and September the schedule will hold some very exciting inaugural events, which the SEDMS hopes will turn into annual events at tracks across the east coast. Legendary Hilltop Speedway will host the Inaugural River City Showdown June 3rd and 4th. This highly anticipated event will see the drivers of the SEDMS take on the weekly AMRA drivers with $10,000 going to the winner! Stops at Princeton Speedway, Wythe Raceway, East Lincoln Speedway and Kentucky’s Willard Speedway highlight the remainder of the schedule. The 2016 season culminates with the champion being crowned at the prestigious Wix Filters “King of the Carolinas” at Carolina Speedway located in Gastonia, NC Friday and Saturday night October 14th and 15th. The 2 TBA dates will be filled very soon so watch our social media and website for news and updates. SEDMS Competitors will battle for over $260,000 in prize money over the course of the season.

“The goal of the SEDMS is to strengthen and grow modified racing across the southeast. With tracks and drivers coming together, we anticipate that the SEDMS tour is going to see a successful first season. We have already seen tremendous excitement and support as shown by the aggressive schedule, and we are working hard to make sure drivers, tracks, and fans will be happy. We are working hard to truly encompass the Southeast with the Series in 2016 and beyond” said series co-owner Steve Summerlin.
