The HP is in the heads and intake. You can run more rpm's if you have a good bottom end.
Seems around here several guys run iron head engines with moderate success... lots of Eagle and Scat components. The top guys are on Brodix heads, aluminum blocks and run 8500 RPM's or more.
No wide bore stuff allowed.
2016 will be my first year in a modern DLM. My engine is a 396 with iron heads. An older build but with lots of good parts. I bought it with two bad rods and a damaged crank... I'll use it because it's what I have in stock.
