Screven Motor Speedway’s Winter Freeze VI Set for February 11th – 13th

Sylvania, Georgia (January 17, 2016) – Screven Motor Speedway is set to host its 6th incarnation of their annual Winter Freeze event. The Winter Freeze will open the 20th Anniversary season for James “Redd” Griffin and is expected to be one of the biggest events in the history of the 3/8ths mile South Georgia oval. In addition to a pair of World of Outlaw Late Model events ($8000 to win on Friday and $10,000 to win on Saturday) the track will also host its prestigious Renegade 4 Battle Royale which will pay a whopping $11,000 to the Front Wheel Drive class. Also in action each day will be local divisions of Super Street, Pure Stock V8 and Road Warriors.

In typical Screven Motor Speedway fashion this colossal event will offer something for everyone. With over $100,000 in purse up for grabs, there will be plenty of side by side dirt slinging action going on at the round track all weekend. In addition to that the Game(not a nice word)(not a nice word)(not a nice word)(not a nice word) Speedway go kart track and the Savannah River Dragway will both be in action with big shows. The Savannah River Dragway will be hosting the $10,500 Mark Brennen Memorial Pro-Mod Shootout. And don’t forget that Screven Motor Speedway offers some of the best food anywhere in the country with a menu that includes meat and vegetable dinners along with traditional race track fare.

The weekend will kick-off on Thursday, February 11th with an open practice at the round track. Friday, February 12th will see the World of Outlaws open their season with a complete $8000 to win show along with full programs for the 3 support divisions and the opening round of qualifying for the Renegade 4s. The Saturday, February 13th slate will include the $10,000 to win World of Outlaws Late Model show, complete shows for the Super Street, Pure Stock V8 and Road Warriors. In addition the Renegade 4s will have their final round of qualifying, 2 b-mains and the $11,000 to win / 100 lap feature event to close out the evening.
