Default XR1 body compared to Blue

I have seen several photos of the new XR1 Rocket cars. Most recently Max Blairs.

In the photos it looks like the deck is lower and that there is a more drastic increase in angle towards the spoiler.

Is this an illusion or am I seeing it correctly?

Is this specific to the XR1 or can you copy it to the blue fronts?

I notice the Longhorns look like they have a lower deck height as well?

The height and angle of the decking have nothing to do with manufacturer or model of the chassis. The braces that locate and support the decking are often custom made and adjustable in some cases.

The deck in the xr1 is 2 inches lower at the mid point than the other cars. You can copy it to any car. Just alot of work to do

Is the struggle to drop the deck worth the advantages, or is it just smoking the mirror?

Lower deck makes a right side exit much easier in a hurry.

    12.9 Interiors
A.) Interior is permitted to be dropped to the middle of the car a maximum of three inches ( 5 ”) below the top
of doors and a minimum of twelve inches (12”) below the roll cage.

^^^ This is from the 2016 LOLMDS Rule Book. The "word" three was not updated/changed, but the "5" in parenthesis is actually in red, meaning it was changed from 2015. That gives you an extra two inches to drop the interior. I believe Dirtcar/UMP is still at 4" though.

I was at Rocket this past Friday, looked at the XR1 for a good 2 hours, there is much more going on that the deck being lower. The car is much more compact, appears to be much stiffer as well. Plus just about everything is modular, all brackets bolt on.

I was looking at the front of a long horn, talk about stiff. Must be the new trend, bolt on brackets as well.

Whats the price tag on a new XR1 frame etc?

    Just say no...

I'd bet he's talking the chassis itself. The front of a longhorn has X bracing where most chassis have nothing. There are some good pics here:

Here is where I got my reference to Max Blair's car.

Anyone have photos of the deck close up or the spec sheet to build the deck?

I said a while back that I'd find it highly likely that you where going to see a trend to stiffen the car's frames:
