Tyler Clem Bags Pair of Top Ten Finishes; Speedweeks Continues

St. Petersburg, Florida (02/01/16) – 13-year-old, Tyler Clem embarked on the opening rounds of his very-busy Speedweeks slate over the weekend in his Bubba Army #14 Rocket Late Model.

After Thursday’s event at Bubba Raceway Park (Ocala, Florida) was cancelled due to the weather, Tyler was one of 53 Crate Late Models registered on Friday night for the NeSmith Chevrolet Winter Shootout portion of the Bubba Army Winternationals. After recording the 26th fastest qualifying time in time trials, Clem fell just short of a transfer spot in his consolation event, shifting his focus to the doubleheader on Saturday.

For the $3,000-to-win A-Main on Saturday afternoon, Tyler logged the 10th fastest time sending him into his heat with a pole position starting spot. With the top four transferring into the feature, Clem recorded a 3rd place finish, securing his spot into the main event. With 50 laps to work his way to the front, Tyler captured a solid 4th place finish behind Kyle Bronson, Max Blair, and Mark Whitener with Austin Kirkpatrick rounding out the top five.

On Saturday night for the NeSmith Chevrolet Dirt Late Model Series World Championship, which was delayed from 2015 by weather, Tyler Clem started15th in the $10,000-to-win, A-Main. Gaining eight spots in the 100-lap affair, Tyler recorded a solid 7th place finish.
