Mine does that sometimes when its on auto set rate, select a slower rate and try that. it takes a few seconds for it to update speed on mine like 5 secs or so. So wait a few seconds after changing speed to see

I'm on Roku 3HD and watching on my tv. I have 720hd and 1080hd. Doesn't matter what the setting is on. It buffers way more than it plays.

I'm just on a PC, no experience with Roku

I'm on Google Chrome 1080 Lap top. Plugged in my HDI cable from TV. No Problem at all.

If you could gear down to 480, you might have a better shot. Sounds like your bandwidth isn't there. Mine is like watching tv

Once I got logged on with my iPad I had no problems at all. Worked great. I'm sure most of the problems have to do with not enough bandwidth with their internet services.
If you don't have enough bandwidth and you have multiple users on the Internet at the same time especially if they are streaming videos as well it could cause some problems.
I would think you might need at least 6 meg of Internet services for good services but, not 100% sure about that might need more.

Can you do a speed test and see what you Internet speed is?
The more I checked even 3 meg might be plenty
