2300 head and intake manifold

What is the best combination of heads and intake manifolds? Oval head/oval intake , Oval head/dport intake? Have been running oval/oval with good results. Have run oval/d port and did not see any difference.

I would say the strongest motor I ever had was an oval/dport

Depends on rules, can you port and polish, can you modify intake ,bigger valves, Camshaft lift , carb ???? Recent test when flowing heads with intake mounted on head86 Dport with a Stock D4 is the best ( No touch intake rule )86 Dport with a Bo-Port Efi worked intake ( When Modifying is allowed ). But Dport with a Esslinger intake is by far the best combo. But Esslinger intake will need a turtle and will have to be modified To get the cylinders to burn at a equal rate.
