WAYCROSS, GA (March 24, 2016) - In the week ahead, the stars of the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series will face new challenges. The series will visit Boyd’s Speedway in Ringgold, GA on Friday, April 1st before trekking to East Alabama Motor Speedway in Phenix City, AL on Saturday, April 2nd.
In 2014, dirt late model standout, Dale McDowell and local business owner, David Duplissey acquired Boyd’s Speedway. East Alabama Motor Speedway stands as one of the south’s most famous and longest running motorsports attractions. Founded in 1973 by the late Jimmy Thomas, East Alabama quickly became a weekly gathering place for much of the Southeast’s top dirt late model talents. In recent years, a high quality lighting and sound system, an enlarged pit area - to accommodate nearly 400 race teams, along with box seating and VIP suites have been added to the speedway. The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series will converge on the 3/8-mile oval on Saturday, April 2nd for the 19th Annual Bama Bash. The tour’s only stop in the state of Alabama includes a complete program of: Miller Welders Time Trials, Heat Races, B-Mains, and a 60-lap, $12,000-to-win main event.
