Dennis Erb, Jr. Eyes Batesville’s Bad Boy 98 Following Pair of Top Tens in Southeast

(CARPENTERSVILLE, ILLINOIS) Dennis Erb Racing ventured south with the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series on April 1-2 to two new series venues in the states of Georgia and Alabama. On Friday night at Boyd's Speedway in Ringgold, Georgia, a $10,000 to win shootout was held in front of a jammed-packed grandstand at the Chattanooga-area facility. Dennis Erb, Jr. ran seventh in his stacked heat race, but later grabbed the third and final transfer spot through his consolation event. After starting the 50-lap main event from the outside of the eleventh row, Dennis steadily drove past twelve competitors during the contest en route to a solid tenth place performance.

At the historic East Alabama Motor Speedway in Phenix City, Alabama on Saturday evening, a $12,000 top prize was on the line in the annual running of the 'Bama Bash.' Dennis timed in seventeenth quickest overall during the qualifying session and later ran fifth in heat race action. The Carpentersville, Illinois ace then rolled off from the outside of the seventh row in the 60-lapper and drove up inside of the top five before suffering a flat right front tire. After heading pitside for new rubber, Dennis rallied back up to finish eighth in the 'Bama Bash' and currently sits tied for seventh in the latest LOLMDS point standings. With this weekend’s Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series tilt scheduled for Brownstown (IN) Speedway already succumbing to Mother Nature, the #28 team will start gearing up for next weekend’s annual ‘Bad Boy 98’ at Batesville Motor Speedway in Locust Grove, Arkansas. The cars and stars of the LOLMDS will descend upon the Batesville-area speedplant on April 15-16 for a two-day program, which will boast a hefty $20,000 winner’s check. Qualifying and heat races are slated for that Friday night, while consolation races and the 98-lap headliner are scheduled for Saturday evening in the Razorback State.
