    Default cam selection

I'm getting into a street stock class. will be using a 383, flattops, early vortec 906 heads with an edelbrock performer rpm intake. not looking to blow everyone away, just want an engine to last the year and run decent while I move from 4 cyl to v8 classes. want to turn about 6500 max. do you know a good cam grind or specs to look for? thanks.

Try a Comp Cams 12-252-5 with 1.6 rocker on the intake

I'd go custome grind on a P55 cam core as it will last and you can prolly use it on the next rebuild too saving money later on.

I won a lot of races in street stocks with his cams in a 500 2 barrel class. Worth every penny.

i would stay in the low to mid 240s for duration and keep lift around .500. I prefer camcraft.

Tony Barker Racing Engines fixed us up some custom grinds that were spectacular with our Vortec packages.
won with them for 13+ yrs 2 bbl and 4bbl

gonna be hanging with our buddy Mitch Machado & company eh?

Can't go wrong with Jones or Camcraft... both worth the $$$ over off the shelf stuff.
