Ray Cook Racing Captures Cleveland Loot; Takes Second Win of 2016 Season!

(BRASSTOWN, NORTH CAROLINA) Ray Cook Racing found themselves celebrating in victory lane for the second time in 2016 on Saturday evening, April 9 at the historic Cleveland Speedway in Cleveland, Tennessee! Ray Cook clicked off the quickest lap during Super Late Model qualifying, which earned him the pole position for the 'Spring Fling' main event. The Brasstown, North Carolina standout then grabbed the point at the drop of the green flag and led each one of the 35 circuits en route to capturing the $1,500 payday over Jamie Perry, Booger Brooks, Jordon Horton, and Mike Tinker! Complete results from the unsanctioned show at Cleveland Speedway can be viewed online at www.clevelandspeedwayllc.com.

“For making a last minute decision to head to Cleveland, everything worked out very well for us,” exclaimed Cook earlier this week. “We qualified on the pole and capitalized on that track position in the feature. The car was good and I can’t thank every one of my sponsors enough for their support and dedication!”

The #53 team will sit idle over the upcoming April 15-16 weekend, as Ray will put his officiating cap back on for the 15th edition of the ‘Spring Thaw’ at Volunteer Speedway in Bulls Gap, Tennessee. His Old Man’s Garage Spring Nationals tour will roll into “The Gap” this weekend to preside over the two-day ‘Spring Thaw’ extravaganza. Things will kick off on Friday night with a $4,000 to win program, while Saturday’s finale boasts a $10,000 top prize. Ray is the defending winner of the ‘Spring Thaw,’ but will not be in action to defend his race title.
