The Rocket book says you line it all up so there is 16 3/4 " between inside right frame rail and inside lift bar plate on top of rear end. (that's for 1 3/4 " round tube car .. use 16 1/2 " for square tube car)

Thanks, but the measurement I'm looking for is from the rotor to the shock mount on each side and if the shock mounts are to the inside or outside of the birdcage plate.
-
OH .. I missed that you aren't running standard Rocket bird cages.
-
I'll get u a measurement here later
-
I believe the WMF cages are basically a copy of the TWM cages
-
Rocket cages are RR 8.25" from outside of rotor to center of shock mount. LR is 8.75"
-
The shocks mount to the outside of the birdcage plates on each side?

Call Rocket. 304 592 3200. Not something you want to screw up. You may have to call the cage manufacturer if Rocket doesn't sell their cages.

Neither. It uses a standard shock mount mounted to the center of the plate. The heighth is not adj, at least on the standard TWM cages.

Thanks for the help everyone!

Little things like this drive me nuts. Why can't there be something in the setup book about this? Like a rear end axle length, and a measurement from rotor to 4-link heims, and rotor to shock mount. Obviously this is a crucial measurement, just as crucial as the rest of the numbers listed in their book.

I'm betting there are very few Rockets out there that don't have Rocket birdcages on them. If you get yourself in a non-standard configuration, it doesn't seem reasonable to me to expect the manufacturer to help you. YMMV.

I agree, they can't account for everything. Unless I've missed it, I've never seen any side to side info for birdcage locations in the 2 Rocket books I have.
