SENOIA, Ga. – Apr. 23, 2016 – Chris Madden needed one lap to get the job done, and that was lap 50. The Gray Court, S.C. driver passed Shane Clanton on the final lap to win his second-straight Old Man’s Garage Spring Nationals Series by Schaeffer’s Oil victory while pocketing $6,000 at Senoia Raceway.

Madden’s third-career Spring Nationals Series win came while piloting the Century Plastics, Henderson Amusement, Crowder Trucking, Allstar Performance, Stroble Mini Storage-sponsored Clements Racing Engines-powered Longhorn Chassis.

Madden and Clint Smith brought the field of 22 to life for the start of the feature event with Madden leading the first 29 circuits before fifth place starter Shane Clanton grabbed the point on lap 30. Clanton would hold the top position until the white flag when Madden began to pressure him and made the last lap pass on Clanton and came to the line at a mere .013 seconds ahead of Clanton. Only one caution slowed the 50-lapper that was ran in just a tick over 17 minutes as Craig Scott slowed on lap 21.

The Old Man’s Garage Spring Nationals Series will be back in action for a double header in the Bluegrass State of Kentucky next weekend as the series visits Ponderosa Speedway in Junction City on Friday April 29th paying $4,000-to-win and $400-to-start and Saturday April 30th at Florence Speedway in Union paying $5,000-to-win and $450-to-start.
